Hello Inventor Smart Community,
A lot of inventors have questions they are carrying around.
Is my idea worth pursuing?
Should I license it or manufacture it myself?
Do I need a patent first?
How do I pitch this to a company?
What should I do next?
Those are not small questions.
They are the kinds of questions that can affect how much money you spend, how much time you invest, who you trust, and what path you take with your invention.
That is why tonight’s Premium Insider event is such a valuable one.

Why Tonight’s Q&A Matters
Brian Fried often reminds inventors to look at their idea from a business perspective.
That matters because when you are excited about your invention, it is easy to move too fast.
You may want to file something right away.
You may want to show it to a company.
You may want to spend money on a prototype.
You may want to raise funding.
You may want someone to tell you the idea is great.
But the better question is:
What is the smartest next step for this invention right now?
That answer is different for every inventor.
Some inventors need to do more research.
Some need a better prototype.
Some need to search similar products.
Some need to understand patents.
Some need help preparing a pitch.
Some need to decide between licensing and manufacturing.
Some need to slow down before spending money.
That is where a live Q&A can help.
You can hear other inventors’ questions, learn from Brian’s answers, and bring your own situation into the room.
Meet Brian Fried, The Inventor Coach
Brian Fried is an inventor, author, speaker, coach, and founder of Inventor Smart and the National Inventor Club.
He has 15 patents, has licensed and manufactured products, and has had inventions sold through major channels including retail, home shopping, catalogs, and online stores.
He is also the author of How to Make Money with Your Invention Idea, where he walks inventors through the real-world steps of researching, protecting, prototyping, licensing, manufacturing, and presenting an invention.
Tonight is your chance to ask him questions live.
🧠 Inventor Tip of the Week: Bring a Better Question
Before tonight’s Q&A, take a few minutes and write down one clear question.
Instead of asking:
“What should I do with my invention?”
Try asking:
“I have a working prototype and found three similar products online. Should my next step be a patent search, customer feedback, or preparing a pitch?”
The more specific your question, the more useful the answer can be.
Here are a few prompts you can use:
What stage is my invention really in?
What do I need to prove before spending more money?
What should I have ready before pitching a company?
How do I know if licensing makes sense for my idea?
What should I be careful about before talking to manufacturers?
What kind of protection should I understand before sharing my idea?
What is one mistake inventors make at my stage?
You do not need to have everything figured out before joining.
That is the point of the room.
Invention History Spotlight
There is also a timely reminder this week that invention has always been part of America’s story.
The National Portrait Gallery has opened The Spirit of Invention: Patent Office and Patentees, a new exhibition running from June 26, 2026 through June 6, 2027 in Washington, D.C.
The exhibition looks at the early history of the Patent Office, the inventors connected to it, and the role patents have played in American innovation.
It is a good reminder that inventors have always needed more than ideas.
They have needed systems, protection, documentation, guidance, and people who understood the process.
That is still true today.
What To Do Today

Final Thought
You do not have to figure out your invention journey alone.
Sometimes one good answer can save you time.
Sometimes one piece of feedback can help you avoid a mistake.
Sometimes hearing another inventor’s question can help you see your own idea more clearly.
Tonight’s Q&A is built for that.
Bring your questions.
Bring your notes.
Bring the invention you are working on.
We hope to see you inside tonight.
Keep inventing,
