Community Spotlight: Bo Lucas (Wristrictor)
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Bo Lucas — inventor, designer, and founder of Wristrictor, an innovative on-the-go wrist support designed to deliver ergonomic comfort and protection for repetitive computer use.
Bo’s inventor journey is a unique one. He began his career as a personal trainer, where he witnessed firsthand the physical toll of repetitive motion. He later combined that experience with his graphic design degree from Irvine Valley College to single-handedly design and create Wristrictor — taking it from concept to finished product.
Inspired by attending COCREATE2025 in Las Vegas and an empowering conversation with Brian Fried, Bo gained the final push he needed to bring Wristrictor into the world. Today, he’s licensed his invention and is excited to connect, collaborate, and keep learning alongside fellow inventors here in the community.
Bo, we’re so happy to have you in the Inventor Smart Community and can’t wait to see how Wristrictor continues to grow.

💡 Inventor Tip of the Week — Name It to Claim It
One of the simplest but most powerful steps you can take early on is to give your invention a name. Naming turns an idea from something abstract into something real — something you can talk about, refine, and build momentum around.
A clear, memorable name also sets you up for success down the road by helping you check trademark availability, domain names, and branding opportunities before you invest too much time or money.
📌 Pro Tip: Brainstorm three strong name ideas and ask friends or mentors which one stands out. Then do a quick search on the USPTO Trademark Database and a domain site like GoDaddy to see what’s available.
🎯 Action Step: Pick one of your ideas and name it this week. It’s a small move that signals big intent — and it’s the first step toward turning your concept into a real product.

On This Day in Inventor History
On September 29, 1913, Rudolf Diesel—the German inventor behind the diesel engine—vanished from the steamship Dresden while en route from Antwerp to Harwich. His disappearance remains one of history’s most enduring mysteries.
Also, September 29 is celebrated as Inventors’ Day in Argentina, honoring the birthday of László József Bíró, the inventor of the ballpoint pen.
