Celebrating Brian Fried, Coach of the Year!
We’re excited to share some big news about Brian Fried, The Inventor Coach, and a proud moment for our inventor community.
Brian was named Coach of the Year at Alibaba.com’s 2026 Ambassador Awards, held at the CoCreate event in Los Angeles. The recognition celebrates his work helping inventors turn ideas into real, commercialized products.
For everyone who has learned from Brian, shared an idea with him, or benefited from his guidance, this is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate his dedication to inventors.
Connecting at CoCreate
While at CoCreate, Brian also had the opportunity to meet Kuo Zhang, President of Alibaba.com, and Barry Poznick, longtime executive producer of Shark Tank and other major television franchises.
Fellow community inventors Bo Lucas and Tyler Radka were also part of the event, representing the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit within our community.
Introducing Patent Watch
Alongside this recognition, Brian is launching Patent Watch, a new AI agent built for Alibaba’s Accio Work platform.
Patent Watch helps inventors monitor their issued patents for potential copycats across major marketplaces. It’s built directly from Brian’s own methodology and experience as a holder of 15 patents.
For inventors looking to keep an eye on potential copycats, it’s a new tool worth exploring.

Meet Brian Fried, “The Inventor Coach”
Brian Fried is The Inventor Coach, a serial inventor holding 15 patents who has successfully licensed and manufactured his own products sold through major retailers, QVC, and As Seen On TV. For over 20 years, he has guided thousands of inventors from idea through commercialization.
